I did it!! I went to Weight Watchers and signed up last night. I have officially 12 weeks left to lose weight before my NYC Marathon!! I love to run and workout but I struggle with my foods! I think I am truly addicted to chocolate!! I figured for the first 12 weeks of my blog I'm going to track my weight loss and marathon training. I think it going to be more difficult to work on my eating then to train for the race. I also have 3 weeks until my triathlon. I ran this tri last year so I have a lot of pressure to finish it faster then last year. I struggle with competing against myself, for some reason I completely shut down at races when it comes to beating my own time. Why??? I have no idea!! But I am mentally and physically going to do it this year!!
I am very excited about making Weight Watchers a priority this time unlike all the other times I have joined it. My goals are to lose 20 pounds in the next 12 weeks, make good food choices for not only myself but for my whole family, plan ahead for my meals, and I also just want to keep a positive outlook over this process because I know it is going to be tough.
I'm off to a good start with my diet and training to day!! I had a wonderful 8 mile run this morning. The weather was perfect. And I also did it by myself!! It's been a while since I have felt that good on a run!! I was running faster at the end of the run then I was at the beginning, that's how good I was feeling!! I hope they keep going that way!!
Do you struggle with eating?
YES. i am totally addicted to chocolate as well. i pretty much cannot have a meal without a "dessert" after. haha. I have been trying to find better choices though. Like I will have 2-3 hershey kisses throughout the day or sugar free pudding. definitely helps. but I kinda hit a wall with my eating after my marathon and gained some pounds. hoping to get back on track and lose some of that weight again!
ReplyDeleteI also agree about competing with myself at races!!
great job on your 8 miler! sounds like an awesome start to your day!
Nice run! Nice blog too! :)
ReplyDeleteYou dont even wanna know what I ate yesterday! HAHAHAHA! General Tso's chicken for dinner. Actually felt like I had eaten siding off a home. Need to knock that off.
You can do it! Make yourself do it! I have faith in you! I'm biking today, I'll miss you!
Hi from a new follower! You have such a positive and upbeat attitude. Good luck with your goals. I'm currently training for Chicago. NYC is on my races to run list. Food? No problem with little to no sweets. It's the salty snacks that get me. I look forward to following your journey to meeting your goals.

I struggle with eating on the reg, it's my biggest pitfall and I use running as an excuse to eat whatever I want.
Hello from another new follower. I came over from Pain, Pride and Perseverance! Definitely can be addicted to chocolate because I am! I just recently did a cleanse and noticed how different I was just not eating it....it definitely gives you a certain fix. I too am running a tri in two weeks and a marathon at the end of September in the Hamptons. I was going to try ny but it is too close to the hampton date...maybe next year! Good luck with weight watchers!!!
ReplyDeleteYour not alone, alot of endurance athletes struggle with food, the more we train, the hungry we are.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with you 12 week program
Excited to hear about your tri
Food is always a battle for me. The only way I've lost weight is by controlling my food. Running is great, but as the adage goes, weight loss is 80% the food and 20% the workouts-- or something like that...
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to reading your blog!
